I wrote this orchestral work for my local community orchestra and consists of five scenes, reflecting different phases of Spring.
Scene 1: Spring is in the air
Scene 2: Early buds appear, but some suffer from a cold spell
Scene 3: Bulb shoots appear
Scene 4: Buds open and blossom appears. This scene was written specifically for our two brilliant bassoonists. it sits very comfortably for the bassoons and isn't difficult to play.
Scene 5: Flowers are il full bloom and excitement fills the air. Everyone goes out to dance in the fields.
The 5th scene is a little tricky for for flutes and clarinets, so does require some serious practise !

This is a fun arrangement of 13 carols and 7 well known Christmas tunes to set the mood for the festivities.
It is written for a chamber orchestra (strings, 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 1 trumpet and percussion.
